Learn more about Julius Baer’s commitment to promoting the arts
Located mid-stream in the River Elbe in the HafenCity is Hamburg's newest concert hall, the Elbphilharmonie. Designed by Swiss architects Herzog & de Meuron, the Elbphilharmonie is itself a work of art, combining architecture, music, and a unique location. The ceremonial opening of the building took place in January 2017, and since then it has welcomed hundreds of thousands of visitors, whether to the freely accessible plaza or the concert hall, which boasts a revolutionary acoustic concept that makes it one of the best in the world.
Julius Baer is proud of its partnership with this prominent establishment. The Bank's involvement means a commitment to a range of formats and enormous cultural diversity, both regionally and internationally. We are convinced there will be enduring interest both domestically and abroad, and look forward to seeing the ongoing development of this very promising cultural institution.
The concert hall in Zaryadye Park in Moscow is one of the most modern music venues in the world. With two performance halls for 1560 and 400 guests respectively, as well as a recording studio, this large transformable space with a height of 20 metres allows for a remarkable acoustic experience. State-of-the-art engineering solutions and technologies integrated into the building enable resident musicians to bring their most ambitious ideas to life.
Julius Baer is the General Partner of the Zaryadye Moscow Concert Hall. This sponsorship is in line with the company’s strong dedication to supporting arts and culture across the globe as well as its long-standing commitment to the Russian market.
This international music festival presents the best of classical music for more than two weeks each summer. It is a place for discovery and learning, allowing different generations to interact, inspire each other, and share their passion with the public.
The Festival also forges links between the young and the great masters. The Verbier Festival Academy identifies, encourages, and nurtures the extraordinary artists of tomorrow, inviting selected young talents from around the globe each year to take part in festival activities.
Julius Baer has been a sponsor of the Verbier Festival since 2010.
Dubai Opera, together with Art Dubai, is the radiant centre of arts and culture in Dubai. The Opera opened its doors to the public in August 2016 and hosts performances ranging from classical themes such as opera, ballet, and classical music to the more modern including musicals, fashion shows, jazz performances, and comedies. The stunning architecture of the Opera was designed by the Danish architect Janus Rostock and is a work of art in itself.
Julius Baer is honoured to be a main partner of the Dubai Opera productions since January 2018. This partnership reflects the Bank’s commitment to supporting Dubai’s cultural scene and aims to raise awareness of Julius Baer’s brand both locally and internationally.
Since 2015, Julius Baer has been honoured to be the official financial sponsor of the Contemporary Section of Art Dubai, the leading international Art Fair in the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia. Julius Baer is also the official partner of the fair’s Forum Fellows programme, which enables a selection of practitioners to meet and share ideas and best practices. Julius Baer’s partnership with Art Dubai is in line with our long-term commitment to supporting the United Arab Emirates’ emergence as both a business and cultural hub. It also highlights our belief in the importance of the local art scene, which we believe will continue to expand and attract further interest from the art community around the world.
Museum of Contemporary Design and Applied Arts (mudac)
Since its opening in 2000, the mudac in Lausanne has established a reputation for having an inquisitive attitude to the things that shape our way of life, and has always sought to ask pertinent questions. It prides itself on providing a forum for dialogue and exchange, bringing together design with the applied arts and contemporary art. This unique and bold approach is recognised throughout the world, with exhibitions staged from Paris to Shanghai.
Bank Julius Baer is proud to be mudac’s Main Partner. The partnership will encompass the museum’s move into ‘PLATEFORME 10’ – a new arts district consisting of five world-class institutions directly next to the Lausanne train station.
The Städel Museum, located in Frankfurt, has one of the most important international art collections in the world. It contains more than 3,100 paintings, 660 sculptures, 4,600 photographs, and 100,000 drawings and printed graphics. Together, these present a rich retrospective of 700 years of European art history.
The scientific research of the inventory as well as the development of internationally recognised exhibitions out of their collection is the museum’s key aspect. Another main concern is art education for specific target groups, which deals with the collection’s content and generic art issues.
Julius Baer is committed to the visual arts, and in 2006 became Städel Museum’s first corporate partner.
