Julius Baer has been deeply committed to supporting and promoting visual art for decades, be it through art prizes, fairs, or museums. This tradition can be traced back to the 1930s, when the Baer family launched its private art collection. Building on this legacy, Julius Baer established its corporate art collection in the early 1980s. Since that time, the bank has steadily expanded its commitments and entered into exciting partnerships around the world to help further the reach and impact of artistic expression.

Prizes for emerging talents

Julius Baer is proud to support artists doing ground-breaking work by sponsoring two art awards. The first is the Julius Baer Next Generation Art Prize, which recognises young Asian artists who create digital art. The second is the Julius Baer Art Prize for Latin American Female Artists – a unique platform for pioneering female artists.

Showcasing local art through art fairs

Julius Baer has been the official financial sponsor of Art Dubai since 2015, reflecting our commitment to supporting the United Arab Emirates’ emergence as both a business and a cultural hub, and our belief in the regional art scene. We also support the vibrant arts scene in Indonesia, another important market for Julius Baer, through our sponsorship of Art Jakarta, which is one of Southeast Asia’s most significant and oldest art fairs.

Experiencing art in person

We believe in the importance of experiencing art first-hand, and are therefore honoured to sponsor MAMBO, one of Columbia’s leading institutions for art and culture. And since 2018, we have been a main partner of Switzerland’s Museum of Contemporary Design & Applied Arts MUDAC.

Promoting art communities

Julius Baer has a long tradition and heritage of supporting the visual arts in Switzerland, with a contemporary art collection that today comprises more than 5,000 artworks. The partnership with Zurich Art Weekend highlights Julius Baer’s engagement with art and is in line with the Bank’s commitment to creating value beyond wealth. Zurich Art Weekend which is scheduled every year for the weekend before Art Basel attracts the national and international art community.
