Guernsey Team

Situated in the Bay of St Malo some thirty miles from the French coast of Normandy, Guernsey (capital St. Peter Port) is the second largest of the Channel Islands.  With Alderney, Sark, Herm, Jethou and a number of smaller islets, it forms the Bailiwick of Guernsey. Guernsey is a dependency of the British Crown and does not form part of the European Union.  It is known for its stable and well-regulated financial services sector and a professional and innovative work force.

Bank Julius Baer Guernsey Limited was incorporated in 1994 as a subsidiary of Julius Baer Holdings and commenced business by taking over the local banking licence and part of the business of Aitken Hume Bank (Guernsey) Limited, a subsidiary of Aitken Hume International, London. On the 1 November 1999 Bank Julius Baer Guernsey Ltd was granted full branch status and became Bank Julius Baer & Co Ltd Guernsey Branch.  With business transferred from the London office, asset and liability management became a new function of the Guernsey Branch.

Julius Baer employs more than 120 staff in Guernsey and offers a range of financial services, including discretionary portfolio management and investment advisory services provided directly by the qualified teams in place locally.  Credit services include the provision of Lombard lending and UK buy to let and non-resident mortgages.  There is also a dedicated team that supports the needs of External Asset Managers and the Branch works closely with the wider Julius Baer Group through the provision of administration and support services that are delivered from its booking centre.
