Zurich, 11 May 2022 – After the successful launch in 2020, Julius Baer is proud to announce the second edition of the Julius Baer Art Prize for Latin American Female Artists in association with the Museum of Modern Art of Bogotá (MAMBO) in Colombia. The prize is the first if its kind in Latin America aimed at acknowledging female artists for their innovative research and their influence on contemporary art, while at the same time offering funds to undertake a new and ambitious project in-situ. The prize-winning project will be exhibited in the Julius Baer Hall at the MAMBO in July 2023.

The application process for the second edition of the Julius Baer Art Prize for Latin American Female Artists started in 2022. MAMBO has informed on the short list and new composition of the jury members yesterday. Information on the winner will be provided by MAMBO by September.

We are pleased to extend our long tradition of supporting the visual arts through the Julius Baer Art Prize for Latin American Female Artists, now in its second edition. In partnership with the Museum of Modern Art of Bogotá (MAMBO), we are raising awareness concerning the diversity in cultural landscapes and artistic practices in Latin America.”

The prize is by invitation only. The jury is composed of five members who can each invite five artists to participate. The artists may have a career already underway or in development. The list is submitted for a vote to evaluate each artist before inviting five to submit a proposal, among the criteria are years of experience, recent exhibitions, and motivation.
