"The Graduate Programme allowed me to develop personally and professionally”

After completing the Julius Baer Graduate Programme, Pascale Schwab was given the opportunity to join the Rewards & Performance Management team. “Working in various departments across different locations allowed me to broaden my knowledge and develop personally and professionally,” says Pascale about her journey from Graduate to Compensation Specialist.

Pascale, why did you apply for the Julius Baer Graduate Programme?
“The Julius Baer Graduate Programme allowed me to gain insight into several functions before deciding what career path to embark on. Additionally, the programme offers the possibility of an international assignment. The opportunity to work in various departments across different locations allowed me to broaden my knowledge and develop personally and professionally. The programme is a valuable foundation upon which I’m now building my career.”

What did you like best about your function?
“During my first two rotations in HR Business Management and HR London, I was able to assist in a lot of interesting HR projects and handle daily HR tasks. My third assignment in Marketing allowed me to gain a better understanding of our brand and get an insight in event management. Working in different functions gave me a better understanding of the Bank’s business and allowed me to build a broad network across the Bank.”

Which career path did you choose after the Graduate Programme?
“After having had the opportunity to get an insight into Human Resources and Marketing, I decided to embark on a career in Human Resources. I was given the opportunity to join the Rewards & Performance Management team as a Compensation Specialist. I’m grateful to have been able to start my career in the Julius Baer University Graduate Programme and for the many opportunities the Programme offered me.”

About the Julius Baer Graduate Programme

Julius Baer’s eighteen-month Graduate Programme comprises three six-month assignments, one of which can be a placement at a Julius Baer office abroad. In addition to practical on-the-job training, the programme features dedicated training focusing on technical and social competencies. You will also learn about our company’s value proposition and gain in-depth knowledge of our banking business.

Julius Baer offers graduate positions in four front and back office areas: Private Banking, Investment & Wealth Management Solutions, Business Management, and Information Technology.
