Based in Singapore, Tseng will be responsible for driving key business improvements in both client and employee experience in Asia. She will report to Jean Nabaa, Chief Operating Officer and Member of the Executive Board, and Jimmy Lee, Region Head Asia and Member of the Global Wealth Management Committee.

She brings extensive leadership experience in operational management and will lead the function across the Asia region, helping the Bank’s business to operate efficiently and securely. Her appointment supports the continued evolution of the whole Julius Baer operating platform, delivering greater efficiency and resilience for all our clients and colleagues.

She joins Julius Baer from Standard Chartered Bank, where most recently she held the role of Global Chief Operating Officer for Private Banking, having previously served as COO for Wealth Solutions and Affluent Banking. With extensive multi-market experience in leading large-scale transformation, as well as driving platform innovation, growth, and operational efficiency, she brings strong leadership and a proven track record of delivering strategic change. Prior to joining Standard Chartered Bank, she held senior leadership roles at Citi in New York and Hong Kong, and earlier with Accenture in Singapore and Beijing.

The Bank also announced that Andreas Zingg, the current Chief Operating Officer Asia, will retire from Julius Baer after 23 years with the Bank. During his tenure with Julius Baer, Zingg played an instrumental role in strengthening the Bank’s operating platform across Asia, leading key transformation initiatives and building a resilient, client-focused operations organisation. Tseng will work closely with Zingg to ensure a smooth transition.

Commenting on the appointment, Nabaa said: “I am delighted to welcome Pamela Tseng to the Bank. Her proven track record in overseeing complex, large-scale operations, driving strategic transformation, and cultivating high-performing teams will be a tremendous asset to the Group. Given her deep understanding of Asian markets, I am confident she will further strengthen our capabilities across the region. I look forward to working closely with her as we continue to advance our business in Asia and globally and deliver exceptional outcomes for our clients. At the same time, I would like to thank Andreas Zingg for his contributions and wish him a fulfilling next chapter.”

Tseng said: “I am honoured to join the Bank at such an exciting time for the Asia business. The region presents significant opportunities, and I look forward to growing the business with colleagues across our markets and functions to further strengthen our operating platform, enhance the client experience and support the Bank’s long-term strategic ambitions. I am excited to be part of an organisation with such a strong heritage, talented people and unwavering commitment to clients.”

Asia is a core market for Julius Baer and a vital engine of growth. The Bank continues to strengthen its investment in talent, infrastructure, and expertise to better serve the dynamic needs of high and ultra-high-net-worth clients throughout the region.

This year celebrates two decades of Julius Baer’s established presence in Singapore and Hong Kong. As two of the Group’s seven global booking centres and host to one-quarter of its worldwide workforce, these hubs have become the second- and third-largest operational bases outside Switzerland. Tseng’s appointment reflects the Bank’s ongoing dedication to delivering exceptional client service and driving sustainable growth in Asia.
