Zurich/Geneva, 8 January 2020 – Effective 1 January 2020, Emmanuel Debons assumed the newly created position of Head French-speaking Switzerland. As part of the announced regional realignment, he is responsible for Julius Baer’s private banking clients business in French-speaking Switzerland and the respective branches in Geneva, Lausanne, Sion, Crans Montana, and Verbier. French-speaking Switzerland is of great importance to Julius Baer as a business base, since it currently employs over 500 employees in Western Switzerland, including the domestic market.

Emmanuel Debons has been with Julius Baer since 2014, when he joined the Bank as Head of Vaud & Valais and Branch Manager Lausanne. Prior to that, he spent over 25 years in the private banking division of UBS in Switzerland, Hong Kong, London, and Singapore, most recently as Head UHNW clients Western Switzerland.

In his new role, Emmanuel Debons has also taken over the lead of the Swiss private banking clients in Geneva. The Lausanne branch is newly headed by Roman Salvi, who has been a Team Head there since 2007.

Yves Robert-Charrue, Head of Switzerland & Europe, Middle East and Africa, says: “I am very pleased that Emmanuel Debons, a distinguished manager with great experience, is taking over the management of our market in Western Switzerland. I am convinced that the new set-up and the newly formed management team will enable us to provide even better services for our clients in the important French-speaking Switzerland market and to continue to grow.”
