The Julius Baer Foundation, the non-profit grant foundation of the Julius Baer Group, has dedicated itself to making meaningful and impactful societal contributions for more than 50 years. When the Julius Baer Foundation was established by Walter J. Baer in 1965, its aim was to provide support to all forms of art and culture and the various sciences, along with carefully selected charitable causes within Switzerland. The Foundation’s reach has extended along with the growth of the Group, and today we collaborate with partner organisations worldwide in the core areas of

  • Vocational Training
  • Recycling PLUS
  • and Wealth Inequality.

2018 - an eventful year

“I am very pleased that our newly introduced Philanthropy Services are increasingly known within the Julius Baer community and sought after by our clients,“ says Christoph Schmocker, General Manager of the Julius Baer Foundation. ”In this context I want to highlight our Philanthropy Roundtables and Foundation Talks, two new dialogue formats which proved to be a promising form of interaction with clients interested in this offering. Thanks to our new external partners – Sistema B (Chile), Solafrica (Ethiopia), and Plastic Free Planet (UK), to mention only three of ten new projects – our charitable arm could initiate interesting initiatives in different parts of the world to help people in need."
