The promotion of culture and sports is a long-standing tradition at Julius Baer. We support emerging talents and forward-thinking platforms to spark innovation, encourage dialogue across generations, and promote greater diversity. In all our activities, we stay true to our commitment to foster innovation for a better future for the communities in which we live and work. We aim to share the excitement of outstanding achievement and innovative approaches with the public at large while at the same time fostering talent.
These commitments embody our purpose: to create value beyond wealth. We sponsor both international and local platforms, including:
Montreux Jazz Festival
We have been a proud Global Partner of the Montreux Jazz Festival and its Spotlight initiative, which enables young artists to grow and inspire, and brings together music-lovers of different generations, since January 2022. Why? Because helping culture thrive is in our DNA. And we have a long tradition of supporting emerging talents and cultural initiatives.
The Montreux Jazz Festival is a renowned music festival founded by the late Claude Nobs and held annually in Montreux, Switzerland, for two weeks in July. It draws up to 250,000 music lovers from all across the world to the Lake Geneva shoreline. Montreux Jazz Festival celebrates the industry’s emerging and contemporary acts, while paying homage to music’s legendary acts. Originally a pure jazz festival since inception in 1967, Montreux began showcasing other styles of music throughout the decades and today presents artists from across every genre imaginable. Artists that have graced the stage of Montreux include Etta James, Bob Dylan, Elton John, Lauryn Hill, Aretha Franklin, David Bowie, James Brown, Kendrick Lamar, Leonard Cohen, Marvin Gaye, Miles Davis, Nina Simone and many more.
This partnership is part of our commitment to foster innovation for a better future in the communities in which we live and work, because we are convinced that how we invest today is how we live tomorrow.
ABB FIA Formula E Championship
The ABB FIA Formula E Championship is the world’s first fully electric, city-street racing series. While it is designed to thrill and entertain, it also aims to educate and innovate. Formula E provides fertile ground for some of the world’s leading companies to develop and test sustainable solutions for mobility, energy production and their wider applications. It represents a vision for the future of the motor industry, showcasing the potential of sustainable power and innovative technology.
The forward-thinking, innovative approach of Formula E resonates deeply with our corporate values. Considering the impact that our actions today will have on the next generation is central to both organisations.
We are proud to be the founding Global Partner of Formula E and have supported the championship since its first race in 2014.
