Information according the ordinance on the supervisory requirements for institutions’ remuneration system of Bank Julius Bär Deutschland AG pursuant to sec. 16 of the bank’s salary scale as of 16 December 2013: 4 August 2017
In the three business areas of Bank Julius Bär Deutschland AG − Private Banking, Investment Solutions Group (ISG) and the COO Area − all 170 permanent employees (including of the three members of the Executive Board) received variable compensation in addition to their fixed compensation for the financial year 2017 (as of May 2018). The amount of the variable portion of compensation is dependent upon the success of the Bank’s operations and the individual success of the employee.
In the Private Banking area, the variable compensation is partly a discretionary bonus and partly a formula-based, performance-related variable bonus where the primary compensation parameter of the latter is newly acquired money and contracts. In the other business areas only discretionary bonuses are paid.
For all permanent employees of Bank Julius Bär Deutschland AG the total amount of compensation in 2017 (as of May 2018) was €23.6 million, whereby the fixed portion amounted to €16.9 million.
The bank takes part in dispute settlement procedures of the consumer arbitration board “Ombudsman of Private Banks” (www.bankenombudsmann.de). The consumer has the option to call on the ombudsman of private banks to settle disputes with the bank. If the subject of the complaint is a dispute over a payment service agreement (§ 675f of the Civil Code), clients who are not consumers can also call on the ombudsman for private banks. Details are governed by the “Rules of Procedure for the Settlement of Customer Complaints in the German Banking Sector” which are provided upon request or can be retrieved from the Internet under www.en.bankenverband.de.
