Julius Baer is sending 100,000 medical masks to China, where the coronavirus originated, to support the efforts to control the outbreak. The medical masks have already been shipped from the Bank’s headquarters in Switzerland.

The coronavirus has been declared a global emergency by the World Health Organization.

“We learnt that medical supplies are much needed in China now as many are working tirelessly on the ground to fight against the virus. We want to assist immediately and have tried to source the required items in Switzerland. We would like to help and support those in need so that the coronavirus outbreak can be contained,” said Philipp Rickenbacher, CEO of Bank Julius Baer.

“On behalf of our employees across different locations, our thoughts are with those who have been impacted by the virus. We are sending our best wishes for the well-being of each and everyone,” said Jimmy Lee, Head Asia Pacific and Member of the Executive Board, Bank Julius Baer.
