The Staedel Museum shows important European artwork of seven hundred years of history under a single roof – it features more than 2.900 paintings, 600 sculptures, 500 photographs and over 100.000 drawings.The museum invites visitors on a journey through the history of art and brings the everyday culture, society and history of the different areas back to life. High lights in this international collection are artworks from Lukas Cranach, Albrecht Duerer, Sandro Botticelli, Rembrandt and Jan Vermeer, as well as Claude Monet, Pablo Picasso, Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, Max Beckmann, Francis Bacon and Gerhard Richter.
